Our story.
Over the past few years evangelistic events around Christmas have attracted increasing numbers of guests. Coupled with this is a growing need for female communicators.
Join us for a day of teaching, community, and a chance to get feedback on your creative piece for an evangelistic event this Christmas.
This workshop will inspire you and equip you to create a talk, testimony or Spoken Word.
*You do not already need to have been asked to give a talk this Christmas.

Mairi MacPherson
Contentment that overflows: finding joy in Christ and sharing him with others
This talk will explore how finding our deepest satisfaction in Jesus Christ shapes both our daily lives and our witness to others.
As Christian women, we can often be tempted to look for contentment in changing circumstances, relationships, achievements, or the approval of others, yet true and lasting contentment is found in Christ alone.

Speaking into Culture creatively
In this session, we will take a quick look at how we do evangelism in the midst of the 'post-Christian', yet increasingly 'spiritual' culture of Scotland.
We will consider what the Bible tells us about living as missional Christians in our cultural context and how we are empowered by God to creatively use elements of our culture to do evangelism.

For any woman who wants to prepare to speak evangelistically at Christmas
-
Alongside two training sessions and lots of inspiring ideas each guest will prepare and deliver a short evangelistic talk, spoken word piece or testimony.
Before the conference, you'll receive a training video to help you prepare your presentation.
The conference includes two main teaching sessions focused on communicating the gospel effectively.
You'll take part in a small mentoring group, where you'll present a 5–7 minute pre-prepared piece and receive constructive feedback.
Following the conference, you'll have opportunities for ongoing informal mentoring via Zoom or WhatsApp as you prepare for Christmas outreach events.

Hi, I 'm Karen. I work in a city centre church in Edinburgh called Carrubbers with a remit for both Women and Evangelism. I’ve got a passion for seeing women find and use their gifts for the Lord. I love travelling and enjoying God's creation.

Inonge Siluka
Inonge grew up in Zambia and moved to Scotland with her family when she was 14. She studied law at university and worked with students at UCCF, followed by training in biblical expository ministry with Cornhill Scotland. She works full time for a cancer charity and is also the founder of Restored Hope Zambia, a charity that supports church abuse survivors in Zambia.

Mairi MacPherson
PhD candidate in Systematic Theology at the University of Edinburgh with a research focus on missiology. She works as Network Lead for Edinburgh City Mission's Nations network.

Rachel Sloan
Rachel is one of FIEC's Directors for Women's Ministry, alongside working for Charlotte Chapel, Edinburgh, as their Women's Ministry Coordinator. In both her roles, she is passionate about promoting gospel work carried out amongst women and by women in FIEC churches, alongside equipping and encouraging women’s workers.

Jo Trickey
As well as being ordained, Jo’s spent a lot of time studying theology and evangelism. She’s a pioneer and has run her own small business, spearheaded student ministries in several large churches, and set up internship schemes. She has lots of experience encouraging young adults, as well as preaching in parish-based and diocese-wide ministry roles in Guildford and Newcastle.

Jenni Dyer
Jenni is a very ordinary Christian from central Scotland. She works as a team manager in the NHS and uses her spare time to help young people in her local church to understand the Bible better. She has a degree in theology which she would love to use among unreached people groups in the future.
