Do you long to share the good news of Jesus with older people, but feel unsure where to begin?

Hope for Every Season is a four-week mentoring project for women who want to grow in confidence and develop practical skills for sharing Jesus with older people in churches, care homes and small-group settings.

Through training, encouragement and personal feedback, you'll develop your own evangelistic talk or testimony, learning to communicate the gospel clearly and thoughtfully in ways that connect with the experiences and questions of later life.

You'll learn alongside women with practical experience of older people's ministry, including Alexandra Huggins, CEO of Faith in Later Life.

You don't need to be an experienced speaker. You simply need a desire to make Jesus known and a willingness to learn.

As the UK population continues to age, there is an urgent and exciting opportunity for the Church to share the hope of Jesus with older people. We want to see churches grow in confidence and creativity in reaching older people with the gospel, recognising later life as a season rich in spiritual significance, deepening devotion and purposeful service.

How does The Greenhouse work?

  • Learn and be encouraged - join the opening training and mentoring session on Zoom (April 19th 7.30-9pm)

  • Develop your talk or testimony - work on your piece over the following weeks.

  • Submit your writing - send in your draft for feedback.

  • Share and grow - present your piece in a small group on Zoom, receive mentor feedback and learn from experienced care-home outreach practitioners (May 10th 7.30-9pm)

Our Team

Alexandra Huggins



Alexandra leads the ongoing work and development of Faith in Later Life. She is passionate and experienced in inspiring and equipping people for the opportunities and challenges of later life, and in helping them know Jesus more deeply or for the first time.

Alex has three grown up sons, and she lives in the West Country with her husband, Guy, and their Border Terrier, Mary.

Mentors

  • Anne Cockram

    Anne brings valuable experience in communicating the Christian faith to older people through talks and personal engagement at her church coffee mornings. She understands the importance of sharing the hope of Jesus in ways that are clear, relevant and sensitive to the experiences of later life. Through Hope for Every Season, Anne will help encourage and equip women to grow in confidence, develop their own talks and share their faith with warmth and authenticity.

  • Alison Smith

    Alison brings practical experience of care-home ministry and a heart for sharing the love and hope of Jesus with older people. She understands the value of building relationships, listening well and communicating the gospel with compassion and sensitivity. As a mentor with Hope for Every Season, Alison will help women develop their confidence and skills, encouraging them to share the good news of Jesus in ways that connect with the people they meet.
